Research on Synthesis and Anti Convulsant Activity of Novel Oxadiazole Substituted Phenothiazine Derivatives

The aim of this study is to develop and test novel agents for the treatment of a variety of neurological disorders. The phenothiazine nucleus has been extensively studied in the past for a variety of biological activities. The phenothiazine with an oxadiazole substitution has sparked interest as a possible cure for a number of neurological disorders. Researchers attempted to synthesize substituted phenothiazine and monitor it for anticonvulsant activity in light of these results. The anti-convulsant efficacy of synthesised compounds was tested using strychnine and 4-aminopyridine mediated models. These compounds can be used for ligand-based drug design, which will enable researchers to investigate the exact molecular mechanism responsible for the anti-convulsant effect in the future.
