Recent Study on LiTaO3 Directional Coupler Switch with Enhanced Extinction Ratio and Low Insertion Loss

The R-Soft CAD programme was used to create a unique optical directional coupler switch with S-bend waveguides on a LiTaO3 substrate, which was then simulated using the Beam propagation method (BPM) for light propagation analysis. The optical directional coupler (ODC) switch simulation results are presented. For certain values described in the research, we found that the directional coupler (DC) switch has reduced insertion losses and larger extinction ratios. Variations in waveguide characteristics such as wavelength, waveguide gap, and device length were investigated. Simulation is a term used to describe  The switching efficiency for TE and TM modes is roughly 3dB when the waveguide gap is 3.5 m for both polarisation modes, and the insertion loss is 13dB with the same waveguide gap in TE mode and 16dB in TM mode at 1550 nm wavelength, according to the data. This symmetrical optical directional coupler switch can be utilised to build up functioning devices and as important components for integrated optical communication devices.
