In the context of the new industrial revolution and Ukraine’s deep integration with the EU, the article examines the state of aerospace activity, development prospects, and directions for increasing the competitiveness of aviation, rocket, and space technology in countries around the world and Ukraine. It has been shown that both the aviation industry and Ukraine’s rocket and space complex need to shift their development, reorganisation, and restructuring agendas today. Significant expenditures are also required to modernise production on the basis of advanced technology. The new industrial revolution’s production technologies (Key Enabling Technology / Advanced Manufacturing) are combined with convergence technologies. It has been demonstrated that, in the interests of Ukraine’s national security, and in the face of heightened military threat, the air-space industry can play a key role in the development of the state’s defence shield after some modernization. It is suggested that the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine’s Consultative Working Groups, Academic institutions and independent specialists should be involved in anticipating and explaining the priorities of Ukraine’s aerospace complex’s development in the context of its integration into global and European aerospace.
