A Review of Animal Models in Dental Research

Since the dawn of time, animals have been utilised in the service of humanity. Though animals differ from humans in appearance, they have similar systemic, physiologic, and metabolic properties. As science has progressed, the use of animals in research has expanded as well. Many animal species are developed in laboratories for research reasons, and choosing the correct animal for dental research is a difficult task. The animal models available for dentistry research are the subject of this review.
