Palpebral Infection with Bacillus Anthracis Complicated Cerebral Hemorrhagic Stroke: A Diagnosis Not to be Ignored

Anthrax is an anthropozoonosis caused by Bacillus anthracis, a negative gramme bacillus. Palpebral localization is uncommon in clinical practise and complicates differential diagnosis. We present the case of a 5-year-old girl who presented with an underpalpebral pustule that evolved into peri orbital ulceration with necrosis, making palpebral localization of anthrax suspect.

Summary: Charbon disease is an anthropozoonose caused by a Gram-negative bacillus known as Bacillus anthracis. Palpebral affliction is uncommon in clinical practise and poses a diagnostic challenge. In this case, a young girl of 5 years old presented with a pustule under her arm that evolved into a periorbitaire ulcération with necrose, leading to the suspicion of a palpebral localization of charbon disease
