
Pharmacological Studies on Amomum compactum
The future pharmacological potential of A. compactum will be discussed in detail in this review study. The Zingiberaceae family includes the herb Amomum compactum, popularly known as culinary spices. A. compactum is currently known to be a medicinal plant with a wide range of pharmacological activity, according to numerous studies. Sections of this herb, notably the fruits, leaves, and seeds, have a wide range of pharmacological actions in traditional medicine, including antifungal, antibacterial, antioxidant, gastroprotective, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, anti-cancer, anti-asthmatic, and acute renal failure. Flavonoids, saponins, essential oils, steroids, and triterpenoids make up the majority of this plant’s phytochemical ingredients. Information about the existing A. compactum can be used as a starting point for further research, allowing novel compounds and properties to be discovered. As a result, more research on A. compactum is needed to uncover novel and more comprehensive therapeutic activities.
