Garmin has released the Vivosmart 5 fitness tracker

The Garmin Vivosmart 5 fitness tracker has 66% more screen real estate than its predecessor.

Garmin’s Vivosmart 5 fitness tracker has been launched in India. The advanced sleep tracking features of the smart fitness tracker include Garmin’s sleep score and at-a-glance health stats for pulse oximeter, heart rate monitoring, “body battery” energy monitoring, all-day stress tracking, and more.

The Vivosmart 5 has 66% more screen space, larger text, and an easy-to-use touchscreen and button interface than the previous generation. The tracker also displays the users’ current fitness age based on their VO2 max, resting heart rate, and body mass index. (BMI) This feature is intended to encourage users to lower the figure as they increase their activity.

Throughout the day, the device samples the user’s heart rate multiple times per second and provides abnormal high and low heart rate alerts that can be configured by the user. The device will assign a sleep score to the user based on time spent in sleep stages, amount of movement, stress levels, and other factors. It also tracks “Body Battery” energy levels, hydration levels, and women’s health.

Several sports apps are easily accessible from the device. Swimming, cycling, weightlifting, and other strenuous activities have applications. The device can be linked to the GPS on the user’s smartphone to track the distance, pace, and speed of outdoor walks, runs, and bike rides.

It also has a safety and tracking feature in which the user can hold down a button for a few seconds to activate an assistance alert that sends a text message with the user’s location to emergency contacts that they have previously selected.

The device, which is compatible with both Android and iOS smartphones, generates a personalised Morning Report every day, which includes information such as sleep score and step goals. It also displays a calendar of upcoming appointments as well as weather information.

The Garmin Vivosmart 5 comes in two colour options: mint and black. The Mint variant is only available in small and medium sizes, whereas the black variant is available in large and extra-large sizes. It will be available for purchase beginning June 10 for Rs 14,990. The fitness tracker is available from Garmin’s official website, Amazon, Flipkart, and Synergiser.
