List of new features that WhatsApp may offer shortly for iPhone and Android users

WhatsApp has already rolled out a couple of new features in 2022.

1. Admins to limit who joins the group chats

When enabled, the meta-owned platform may allow group managers to accept or deny requests from those who want to join by hyperlink.

According to Mashable, the information comes from WABetaInfo and implies that the functionality, which is currently only available to beta users, will soon be available for secure versions of the app on both Android and iOS.

The admin approval feature in WhatsApp must be manually enabled for each group that requires it when it is available.

2. Users can hide profile photo, last seen from specific people

WhatsApp just announced that it will be rolling out new features that will enable users to hide their profile images, last seen information, and about information from certain persons in their contact lists.

“To help you safeguard your online privacy even more, we’re adding new options to your privacy control settings.” “You can now choose who from your contact list can view your Profile Photo, About, and Last Seen status,” WhatsApp said on Twitter.

Its availability was limited, as it was during the testing stage, but the business has stated that it will now be available to all iPhone and Android users worldwide.

On iPhone and Android devices, go to WhatsApp Settings > Account > Privacy to try out this new privacy control.

3. Users can now mute other participants in a group call

WhatsApp has also revealed some group calling features, including the ability to silence others and send messages to specific persons during a group conversation.

When someone joins an off-screen group call, a banner appears. According to the screenshot given by a WhatsApp executive, the new mute feature is available when you place a group call.
