Insight into a potential new strategy to target skin diseases like psoriasis

Research at UT Southwestern has shown that targeting metabolism in growing cells holds promise for the treatment of skin diseases like skin condition that are characterized by skin overgrowth ensuing from the excess organic process, called hyperproliferation.

Coexistence of fungal infections in psoriatic nails and their correlation with severity of nail psoriasis

Background: Nail involvement in skin problem is commonly sophisticated by concomitant plant life infections. The aim of this study was to analyze the prevalence of plant life infections in nail skin problem and correlate it with the severity of nail skin problem. Materials and Methods: This retrospective study included patients with nail psoriasis aged ≥18 years with at least one fingernail and one toenail involvement who were treated at Siriraj Hospital from September 2012 to January 2014. The severity of the nail skin problem was assessed by Nail skin problem space Severity Index (NAPSI) score. The nail clippings from the smallest amount and most severely concerned psoriatic fingernails and toenails were refined to see the presence of synchronal plant life infections and isolate the plant life species. ASSOCIATION BETWEEN SOME OBESITY BIOMARKERS AND PSORIASIS SEVERITY

Psoriasis could be a chronic, immune-mediated inflammatory skin disorder that’s related to many comorbidities adore fatness. A STUDY ON COMORBIDITIES IN PSORIASIS

Background: skin disease is related to alternative general diseases referred to as comorbidity. Aim: to seek out out the comorbidities in skin disease, its prevalence, relationship to age, sex, illness period, kind and severity. Materials & methods: Descriptive study for two years in an exceedingly tertiary care center with 171 untreated skin disease patients. Examination and investigations were done as per study protocol. Observation & results: The prevalence of comorbidities in skin disease is seventy-two. Dyslipidemia was the most common and solely major comorbidity in10-20 years age, followed by high blood pressure, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, obesity, MI. [4]

Assessment of Anti-psoriatic Activity of Cassia fistula L. Extract Incorporated Cream

Aims: to research the effectuality of the topical application of purging cassia L. fruit extract in hydrophilic cream for psoriasiform eczema on a mouse model.

Study Design: Formulations containing fruit extract were ready, characterized, and created accessible for in vivo animal study.
