Antimicrobial and antioxidant activities of Feijoa sellowiana fruit
The present study was designed to evaluate the antibacterial and antioxidant activities of an aqueous extract from the tropical Feijoa sellowiana Berg. fruit which is widely used for human food.
Antibacterial activity in Actinidia chinensis, Feijoa sellowiana and Aberia caffra
The antibacterial activity of extracts from various parts of plants (leaves, fruits and stems) was studied in Actinidia chinensis, Feijoa sellowiana and Aberia caffra. These are tropical plants used for food.
Secondary metabolites from the leaves of Feijoa sellowiana Berg.
The investigation of the lipid extract of leaves of Feijoa sellowiana cultivated along the east coast of Sicily has yielded in addition to the widespread secondary metabolites: α-tocopherol, flavone, stigmasterol and β-carotene, an inseparable mixture of tyrosol esters of lignoceric (1a), cerotic (1b) and montanic (1c) acids, and a novel galactolipid identified as (2S)-1,2,6′-tri-O-[(9Z,12Z,15Z)-octadeca-9,12,15-trienoyl]-3-O-β-d-galactopyranosyl glycerol (2).
Volatile Compounds in the Skin Essential Oil of Moroccan Feijoa sellowiana
The oil of Feijoa skin (Feijoa sellowiana, family Myrtaceae) was isolated by hydrodistillation in a Clevenger-type apparatus and analyzed by GC-MS analysis. As a result, 76 components were isolated. Among 19 peaks identified which three were reported for the first time in this plant (Elixene, Linalylanthranilate and Farnesol).
