The most common cause of vaginal discharge in women of child-bearing age is bacterial vaginosis (BV). Of these women, about half are asymptomatic. Adverse effects are consistently associated with pregnancy and puerperium bacterial vaginosis. In order to analyze the prevalence, this study involved recruiting 230 participants and screening them for BV using the Amsel criteria.
